Express Entry Draw – November 13

In today’s Express Entry draw IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) issued 3,600 Invitations to Apply. The Comprehensive Ranking System minimum score was 472. The cutoff score was 3 points lower than the last Express Entry draw on October 30.

Total number of Invitations to Apply to date in 2019 - 71,700

The cutoff score was 11 points higher than the last Express Entry draw on October 2.

October 16 - Express Entry draw issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to 500 Federal Skilled Trades candidates

The cut-off score was 357.

The Express Entry System has three immigration programs which enable skilled workers to immigrate to Canada. 1) Federal Skills Workers Class 2) Federal Skilled Trades Class 3) Canadian Experience Class.

The cut-off score was 81 points lower that the previous draw which was 438 points.

October 2 - Express Entry draw issues 3,600 invitations to apply


The Express Entry draw of today, October 2nd, issued 3,900 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residence (PR) to candidates who had a comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 464. The score in this draw was higher by 2 points from the last draw on September 18th.

EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW: September 18, 2019

The Express Entry draw of today, September 18th, issued 3,600 invitations to apply (ITAs) and were issued to candidates who had a comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 462. The score in this draw was lower by 1 point from the last draw on September 4th.

 

EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW: September 4, 2019

The Express Entry draw of today, September 4th, issued 3,600 invitations to apply (ITAs) and were issued to candidates who had a comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 463. The score in this draw went up by 6 points from the last draw on August 20th.

 

EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW: August 20, 2019

There was an Express Entry draw on August 20th, Tuesday and 3,600 invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued to applications who had a CRS score of 457.
This was the lowest minimum CRS score since the month of May. Also, it is worth making a note that the last draw held on a Tuesday was on September 8, 2015.

 

EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW: August 12, 2019

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 3,600 invitations to apply (ITAs) to applicants in the Federal Skilled Workers Program to apply for Permanent Residence (PR). The cut off score was 466, which was 7 higher than the cut-off score of July 24th of 459.

 

EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW: July 24, 2019

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 3,600 invitations to apply (ITAs) to applicants in the Federal Skilled Workers Program to apply for Permanent Residence (PR). The cut off score was 459, which was 1 point less than the cut-off score of July 10th, of 460.

 

EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW: July 10, 2019

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 3,600 invitations to apply (ITAs) to applicants in the Federal Skilled Workers Program to apply for Permanent Residence (PR). The cut off score was 460, which was 2 points less than the cut-off score of June 26th, of 462.

 

EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW: June 26, 2019

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 3,350 invitations to apply (ITAs) to applicants in the Federal Skilled Workers Program to apply for Permanent Residence (PR). The cut off score was 467, which was 3 points less than the cut-off score of May 29th, of 470.

 

Home Child-Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot

On June 18, 2019, IRCC launched the Home Child-Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot. These pilots replace the Caring for Children and Caring for People with High Medical Needs pilots. Applications received under the Caring for Children and Caring for People with High Medical Needs pilots received on or after June 18, 2019, will not be accepted.

Applicants under the Home Child-Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot can apply from within or outside Canada. Applicants may also apply with or without at least 24 months of qualifying work experience.

  • Applicants applying without 24 months of qualifying work experience are issued an occupation-restricted open work permit once they pass select eligibility and admissibility requirements.

  • Applicants who have 24 months of qualifying work experience, and who meet all the other eligibility requirements, may be eligible for a bridging open work permit.

Accompanying family members (spouses and dependants) are also eligible to accompany the principal applicant to Canada. Applications for work permits and study permits for accompanying family members must be sent along with the principal applicant’s permanent residence application.

Canada removes all countries from the designated country of origin list

The Government of Canada has removed all countries from the designated country of origin (DCO) list, with effect from May 17, 2019.

Foreign nationals (FN) from the 42 countries on the DCO list were previously subject to a 6-month bar on work permits, a bar on appeals at the Refugee Appeals Division, limited access to the Interim Federal Health Program and a 36-month bar on the Pre-Removal Risk Assessment.

  • FN from former DCOs who are awaiting a decision on their claim need not take any action. The Immigration and Refugee Board will continue to process these claims as efficiently as possible.

  • Each asylum claim is unique and is determined in accordance with the law by an independent decision-maker based on the evidence presented, and the individual merits of the case.

  • De-designating countries of origin has no impact on: visa policy decisions. the outcomes of decisions at the independent Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada.

  • Asylum claims continue to be decided on the basis of an assessment of the merits of the individual’s claim.

  • From January 1, 2013, to March 31, 2019, 12 percent of asylum claims were from citizens of designated countries of origin.

  • Budget 2019 announced $208 million to increase the capacity of the asylum system and shorten wait times at the Immigration and Refugee Board.

De-designating countries of origin has no impact on the Canada-U.S. Safe Third Country Agreement.

EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW: MAY 15, 2019

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 500 invitations to apply (ITAs) to applicants in the Federal Skills Trades Program to apply for Permanent Residence (PR). The cut off score was 332.

This is the first program-specific draw in 2019; the last Federal Skilled Trades Class draw was on September 24, 2018, the minimum CRS score at that time was 284 and 400 ITAs were issued.


Express Entry Draw: May 1, 2019

IRCC issued 3,350 ITA’s to applicants in the Express Entry system to apply for PR. The cut off score was 450, and is one point lower since the last draw on April 17th. There is a continual trend of decrease in the score since March 14th of 456.



OINP - Masters Graduate Stream: April 30, 2019

Ontario reopened the Masters Graduate Stream and accepted 667 new registrations on April 30, 2019, and closed it within minutes as it reached it registration limit.

If you successfully registered and received a registration number from the OINP e-Filing portal, you will receive an email that contains your file number in three days.

Make sure you submit your application to OINP within 14 days or your registration will expire.

Atlantic Immigration Pilot – New Requirements – May 1, 2019

Although the AIP has been extended by two years to December 2021, as of May 1, 2019, IRCC will require that applicants meet the language, education and work experience requirements of the AIP prior to being approved for a work permit.

The other recent changes to the AIP was beneficial to international students, employers in the healthcare sector and the provinces:

·        International graduates will now have 24 months post-graduation to apply for the AIP. This change will increase the number of eligible international graduates that can participate in AIP and give them the time they need to complete the PR application process.

·        Employers in the healthcare sector will be able to hire internationally trained nurses to work as continuing care and home care support workers in order to fill job vacancies.

·        The Atlantic provinces will have new authorities to focus their AIP spaces on in-demand labour market needs. This change will lead to better oversight of the pilot and give provinces greater ability to manage designated employers.

Today, April 24, 2019, IRCC has started inviting potential sponsors to submit a complete application.

What you need to do

  • Check the same email account you used on the interest to sponsor form.

  • Check your junk mail folder to see if you have received an email from IRCC is there.

You’ll need your confirmation number to find your invitation status. If you lost your confirmation number, you can use IRCC online form starting April 25, 2019.

Invitations to apply

  • If you receive an invitation, you must submit your complete application on or before June 28, 2019.

  • If you mail your application and it is received after the deadline, it will be returned back it to you.

Lost or forgot your confirmation number

As of 12:00 pm (Eastern Standard Time) on April 25, 2019, you can check your invitation status through IRCC online form. You will receive a response within 10 business days.

Tagalog, Arabic and Urdu among quickest developing languages in Canada

Global study finds Canadians share most favourable view of immigrants

Canadians have the most favourable view of immigrants among the world’s top migrant destination countries, viewing newcomers as a strength rather than a burden, says a new international survey. The report by Washington-based Pew Research Center also found Canadians are the least likely to blame immigrants for crime or an increased risk of terrorism, among the respondents in 18 countries that together host half of the world’s migrants. “Canada is at the top of the list in believing immigration is a plus to the country,” said Jeffrey Reitz, director of ethnic, immigration and pluralism studies at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, who is not involved in the survey. 68% of Canadian respondents in the survey believed immigrants make the country stronger while only 27% said newcomers are a liability because they take jobs and social benefits, said the report.

British Columbia’s Regional Pilot

The two-year immigrant entrepreneurs pilot opened on March 14th and it is primarily focused to help small communities that have less than 75,000 people and are situated 30 kilometers away from large urban cities.

Approved entrepreneurs will obtain a Temporary Work Permit to start their business and can apply for provincial nominations for permanent residence upon meeting the terms of the agreement.

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

Ontario is the destination of choice for many new immigrants who come to Canada every year. This year it will be able to nominate 6,900 through the OINP for permanent residence.

Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class are the 3 immigration streams that are associated with the Express Entry (EE) system. Candidates who are selected through the PNP program attain 600 extra points towards their EE score and are thus certain to receive a Letter of Invitation (LoA) from IRCC to apply for PR.

Caregiver Programs

The Canadian government announced that it will be launching two new immigration pilot programs –
The new Home Child Care Provider Pilot and the Home Support Worker Pilot in March that permits caregivers to come to Canada along with their families. The programs will be opened from March 4, to June 4., and will accept 5,500 applications.
Applicants will be assessed for Canadian permanent residence criteria before they arrive and start working in Canada. After obtaining a work permit and have two years of work experience, they will be allowed to start their permanent resident application process.
