PNP - June Update

Canada's Provincial Nominee Programs: June 2025 Nomination Highlights

June 2025 has been an active month for Canada's Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), with provinces across the country continuing to issue Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates who meet their specific labour market and economic needs. These provincial nominations often provide a significant boost to a candidate's Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score under the federal Express Entry system, making them a crucial pathway to permanent residency.

Here's a concise overview of key PNP nomination activities in June 2025:

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

Ontario held multiple targeted draws in early June under its Employer Job Offer streams. On June 3rd, the OINP issued numerous invitations across its Foreign Worker, International Student, and In-Demand Skills streams, with a strong focus on candidates with job offers in Northern and Eastern Ontario, as well as those in priority health occupations. An additional targeted draw on June 6th invited candidates for Greater Sudbury. These draws underscore Ontario's commitment to regional development and addressing specific sector shortages.

Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP)

Alberta was notably active, conducting several draws between June 5th and June 19th, inviting approximately 120 candidates. These draws targeted various streams, including the Accelerated Tech Pathway, Law Enforcement Pathway, Tourism and Hospitality Stream, and the Dedicated Health Care Pathway (non-Express Entry). As of June 19th, Alberta had utilized about half of its 2025 nomination allocation, indicating more opportunities remain.

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)

Manitoba continued its regular Expression of Interest (EOI) draws. On June 12th, the MPNP invited 36 candidates, primarily focusing on Skilled Worker Overseas profiles directly invited under strategic recruitment initiatives. Later in the month, on June 26th, a larger draw saw 492 invitations issued, including 65 to Express Entry candidates. This draw notably prioritized candidates with a "Close Relative in Manitoba" and those under the International Education Stream, highlighting the province's focus on community ties and local graduates.

New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP)

New Brunswick conducted significant draws around June 16th and 17th, issuing a total of 1,040 invitations across its Express Entry and Skilled Worker streams. These invitations targeted various profiles, including those with expiring work permits, New Brunswick graduates, individuals with employment in New Brunswick, and specific occupations within healthcare, education, social & community services, and construction trades.

Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP)

Prince Edward Island held a draw on June 19th, inviting 52 candidates. These invitations were extended to candidates under the PEI Workforce and Business categories, reflecting the province's ongoing need for skilled workers and entrepreneurs.

Federal Express Entry PNP-Specific Draws

Beyond provincial-specific draws, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) also held several Express Entry draws exclusively for Provincial Nominee Program candidates in June. Draws on June 2nd (277 ITAs, CRS 726), June 10th (125 ITAs, CRS 784), and June 23rd (503 ITAs, CRS 742) invited a combined total of 905 PNP-nominated candidates to apply for permanent residence. These draws underscore the federal government's continued reliance on PNPs to select immigrants who are best positioned to meet regional labour market demands and integrate successfully.

June 2025 showcased the dynamic nature of Canada's Provincial Nominee Programs, with provinces actively seeking to fill specific needs within their jurisdictions. For prospective immigrants, staying informed about these targeted draws and meeting provincial criteria remains a vital step towards achieving permanent residency in Canada.
